Ciro and his team at Sicily Routes were fantastic!! We spent most of our time with our tour guide Ettore, and we all agreed he couldnāt have been nicer or more patient.
Sicily was amazing. We visited both towns (Campofelice di Fitalia & Sambuca di Sicilia) that our ancestors originated from around 125 years ago. Both beautiful places.
Ciro scheduled a cooking class in his hometown (see picture). The time we spent there was a memory we will never forget. The ācookā only spoke Italian, but that didnāt change the experience & actually made it better!
Our trip would not have been as fun & relaxing if it were not for all the planning, translating & sharing of information that we received from Ciro & Ettore at Sicily Routes. Highly recommend them for your trip to Sicily!! ā¤ļø

My family and I just returned from a 2 week trip of a lifetime in Italy, 5 days of which were spent in beautiful Sicilia! Thanks to Ciro and Ettore Sicily was the highlight for us all. Ciro helped me plan a fantastic itinerary and Ettore navigated it brilliantly.
Having our fantastic driver, translator and tour guide made all the difference in the world. He personally escorted us to all of our accommodations and his driving and parking skills with the van were superb both in the cities and in the mountains. In Cefalu we spent a wonderful afternoon on the beach and enjoyed a beautiful sunset over the sea. Ettore recommended a great restaurant right on the water where the rocks were beautifully lit and the moon was full. We visited the towns of Collesano, Vallelunga & Caltavuturo, the birthplaces and residences of my grandparents. Ettore led us on an exciting treasure hunt through ancient streets and communicated with locals, piece by piece we actually found relatives who warmly invited us into their home. It truly was amazing and so are the Sicilian people! We also visited a small winery for a tour, tasting and lunch. Agrigento at night was magical. He is so knowledgeable on Sicilyās history which is absolutely fascinating. Cannoli in Dattilo were so delicious. The view from the top of Erice was one of the most beautiful vistas we have ever seen! Iām so happy I used Sicily Routes. Grazie Mille Ciro and Ettore for making our dream trip come true!

The pictures tell it all. One of our best vacations ever. Sicilyroutes, Ciro Grillo collaborated with us in putting together an incredible 4 days in Sicily. Our guide, Franchesca was the best. Friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, she help make this more than one can imagine. At lunch in Ceflau, the first picture you will see Ciro on the right. In the second picture is Francesca, sitting with Susan in from of the famous bar in Savoca where a scene from the first God Father was filmed. That was so cool!! And one other picture , with an art piece of a cinematographer , is showing the church in the background where the wedding took place. Other pictures we are showing speak for themselves, a wine tour and wine tasting at the Gambino Winery, and an incredible view in Palermo where we had our anniversary dinner. However one picture , we had to get, is showing Susan in the courtyard of the Four Seasons Hotel where the 2nd season of The White Lotus was filmed.
Again we thank Ciro, Franchesca, for putting this tour together , helping us celebrate our 36 wedding anniversary.

We landed in Sicily for 7 days to attend a two day open house in June. When we were researching tours my friend recommended we talk with Ciro Grillo, owner of Sicily Routes. Ciro provided the logistics of the three day event, which included transporting 88 guests 1-1/2hrs into the hills, and catering for the open house.
At the party I was introduced to Ciro and the next day we hired him to arrange our ‘private’ tours to Mt Etna, Syracuse, and a wine tasting that was a three course meal with four 4 wines at a private table.
The transportation was with the same company I contacted for our arrival at the airport and coincidentally was the company Ciro used for my friend’s open house. The driver, Stefano is quite the tour guide talking about the history and changes of Sicily including frequent stops like a well known honey farm and panoramic views.
We cannot convey our gratitude to Ciao for making out trip memorable. read the other reviews on this site and do not exasperate yourselves weighing the merits of your trip research and just call CIRO at Sicily Routes.

The smartest thing we did was hire Ciro Grillo . Originally we were thinking of renting a car and driving ourselves. We are so grateful that we made the wise decision to hire Ciro. Hiring Ciro made our tour of Sicily so pleasurable and relaxing. We didn’t have to deal with the crazy drivers, getting lost, figuring out how to get to places, where to park, where to eat or sleep. Every day was an adventure. Ciro took us to the famous street market in Palermo and Ortigia . Introduced us to Sicily street food, the best cannolis you will ever taste, always recommended amazing restaurants, booked us into quaint Bed and Breakfast and showed us sites in Sicily we didn’t even know existed. Thank you Ciro and Mateo (our driver) for making our trip to Sicily so amazing.

Many thanks to Ciro Grillo and his guides for a delightful, enlightening and fun three weeks in Sicily, travelling from significant historical and artistic attractions to the village birthplaces of both of my grandparents. The trip included a wine tasting, cannoli discovery, street foods on a walking tour of Palermo,, and ancient temples.
For first-time visitors to Sicily especially, the logistical services of pick-up and drop-off at the airport, arranging accommodations, travel to sites, translation, and helpful information along the way is invaluable. The guides are all engaging and knowledgeable, and the experience can be customized to exactly one’s interests.

Ciro took great care of us! I highly recommend Sicily Routes! We flew into Palermo & he got us transportation to our hotel. The next day Ciro met us & took us to Trabia. I wanted to see where my grandparents & great grandparents came from. He showed us all the areas I had researched. As a bonus, we dropped in the records office, not knowing how this would work. I was able to get a copy of my great grandparents marriage certificate!! And copies of their birth certificates! It was amazing! We also visited the church where my great grandparents were married & all were baptized. He truly went above & beyond.
